Francesca and Richard’s beautiful Eltham Palace Wedding
It’s no secret, we love working at Eltham Palace and as one of the photographers that Eltham Palace recommend we work their quite a bit. We first met Francesca and Richard at the Eltham Palace showcase evening that we attend every spring and autumn.
Their plans included the wedding ceremony in the entrance hall and wedding breakfast in the Great Hall, standard stuff for someone of our experience. A new one on us however were alpaca’s at a wedding! You see Francesca loves alpaca’s and of course no wedding is complete without them.
On the day we started bridal prep at a hotel, where a duo of extremely talented ladies were working their magic. We are of course talking about the lovely Angela from RKW Hair and the award winning Elizabeth Joseph Love (Yep, she has just won the Kent Wedding Awards Wedding Beauty Award). Francesca looked stunning before she had even travelled to Eltham Palace to put her dress on.
Here we caught up with Richard and his groomsmen before the ceremony, all looking very dapper in their blue suits.
Everything went to plan, the ceremony, the confetti as the newly weds made their way into the gardens, and then…. The bit we had been waiting for…. The Alpacas! It’s well known that you should never work with animals or children, but the alpacas were on their best behaviour as guests, and of course the bride and groom, had their photos taken with the cute creatures. It might have been a first for us, but we think the alpacas were a real talking point and great addition to the day. When it was time for our new four legged friends to retire for the day, we were left with the beauty of Eltham Palace as the new talking point, and this is one venue that never fails to impress. Making the most of the lovely sunny day we took Francesca and Richard for a little walk along the moat for photos while all the guests made their way to the Great Hall ready for the wedding breakfast.
As day turned to night and it was time for the first dance and the party, and this is where we had another first. The bride stripping on the dance floor! Now, don’t get carried away, this isn’t what you might think. Francesca’s beautiful Charlie Brear dress was made up of two layers, so it was time to shed the gorgeous lace layer and reveal the silk underneath, perfect for dancing the night away!
Francesca and Richard we thoroughly enjoyed photographing your big day and we wish you a very happy life together xx
