Louise and Ryan’s Elvey Farm Wedding
When we first met Louise and Ryan is was clear that Louise had lots of ideas of different for photos that she wanted and that her photos were really important to her. We love that! We love it when a couple are willing to go that little bit further to get great images.
Elvey Farm is a pretty countryside venue, that could be described as being in the middle of nowhere. But this meant either side of the venue were big open fields, the perfect place for the photos.
Being a beautiful sunny day Louise and Ryan were married in the Gazebo next to the traditional Kentish oast house, a really lovely spot for an outside ceremony. The oast house also made for a different space for louise’s bridal prep. It was lovely to work with Clare Lake make up artist, who had done a fantastic job of Lou’s make-up and even stepped in to help perfect “the hairspray shot.”
After the ceremony, drinks were served outside in the gardens before the wedding breakfast in the marquee.
True to their word Louise and Ryan were always ready to come for photos when the light was just right, giving them beautiful golden hour, sunset and twilight photos.
A few things that Louise had wanted from the start was a photo using smoke bombs, which worked really well at sunset and another with a big heart Chinese lantern. Now we didn’t want to be responsible for setting fire to the Kent countryside (it was pretty dry due to our hot summer), so we ensured that the lantern was extinguished as soon as the photo had been taken. If you are going to use Chinese Lanterns – please do so responsibly! It was worth the effort through and in Louise and Ryan’s wedding album the shot is a full double page spread and looks AMAZING!
Thanks Louise and Ryan for letting us be part of your big day and giving us the time to create your stunning photos! xx
