St Alfege Church Wedding Photographer
At Jeff Oliver Photography we love St Alfege Church Wedding Photography. It is a beautiful church and so lends itself to beautiful photographs.
Sited in the centre of Greenwich it is steeped in history. The church is the third on this site, it was rebuilt in 1712–14 to the designs of Nicholas Hawksmoor. The second church built on this site was constructed around 1290. It was here that Henry VIII was baptised in 1491.
St Alfege has some wonderful features that make photography here so good. The first is the huge chandelier that hangs over the centre of the aisle. The lighting in the church acts in such a way that the bride and groom seem as if they are spot lit by the chandelier, we love the way this looks in photographs.
The second great feature is the balcony that runs around three sides of the church. This means we can photograph from above which gives an usual view point and a good view of the whole church and congregation.
